Program Details

Our Forest School program is specifically designed for children ages 4-6, whether they are homeschooled or enrolled in public school, offering one or two days per week for the entire session. This is a unique opportunity for your child to explore and learn in the great outdoors, all while developing important social, cognitive, and emotional skills. Students will immerse themselves in the natural world, exploring the woods and trails of Morningside Park. Our seasonal, educational activities ensure that every day is filled with discovery and fun! We maintain an optimal student-to-staff ratio of 1:6, with a maximum of 12 children per day. This allows us to build meaningful relationships and provide one-on-one attention, ensuring every child gets the support they need. Our program is guided by a Forest School Practitioner, an Ontario Certified Teacher, and an Occupational Therapist. With the added support of local Indigenous Knowledge Keepers, we offer a truly enriched educational experience. Rooted in emergent, inquiry-based, experiential, play, and place-based learning, your child’s interests will guide their educational journey. They will engage in activities that spark curiosity and foster a love for learning through real-world experiences. It's important for your child to come prepared for the weather, with extra clothing, and a nut-free lunch and snacks. In the event of severe weather, we have a four-season yurt and an indoor location for shelter. Should weather conditions require, we’ll explore the trails of Colonel Danforth Park, connected to Morningside Park, ensuring a safe, educational experience no matter the elements.
