A bit about us

Nurture the Nature Forest School was founded in 2022 by Brittany Gillingham, a licensed Lead Forest School Practitioner and certified Therapeutic Skills Practitioner for Outdoor Leaders.

With years of research it was clear that learning in nature is just what children and youth need, so Nurture the Nature Forest School was born.

"Passion is lifted from the Earth itself by the muddy hands of the young. It travels along grass-stained sleeves to the heart. If we are going to save environmentalism and the environment, we must also save an endangered indicator species: the child in nature” Richard Louv

Ron Scott, CA

"Their social emotional growth is incredible. They learn how to solve complex on their own and play without a need for adult intervention. They're fine motor improved dramatically without using a pencil more than necessary. They are creative, writing and imaginations run wild! They sleep better because of the fresh air and sunlight, and a much higher level of activity. Students with speech concerns improve radically because they're communicating all the time with peers. And for me, it's just so peaceful being in the forest, surrounded by its beauty and the beauty of children playing and their laughter."
